Flower Vase Craft DIY Bling Finishing (Tutorial Tuesday) | Dollar Tree Items

I’m excited to share with you one of my easy, cute, and fun ways to decorate a vase using a few items purchased from Dollar Tree. And today we’re going to make a flower vase craft.

EXCITED!

The best part I enjoy about using this clear plastic vase decoration idea well for one.. it’s plastic. Naw.. just kidding… For real I am glad it’s not glass. Also because I’m always looking for crafty alternatives to decorate my work desk. 90% of the crafting projects I make from home I typically donate. I’ll give them away to friends, family, neighbors, and my girls school teachers.

Here’s what you’ll need to create your own flower vase craft.

Number-1: I grabbed these 7 inch Colorful Translucent Square Plastic Vase from Dollar Tree.

You can find the plastic vase on Dollar Tree’s website however they do not sell them individually. They’re sold in bulk. If you don’t feel like walking into local Dollar Tree store then you can also make a quick purchase on online at Dollar Tree’s website here.

I bought each and every single (4) color. It’s really neat to also have the bling wrap match the plastic vase. I did however noticed when I go into the store, not all colors are available for sale. You’ll probably find 1 or 2 colors on the shelf. Pink and clear. Ordering in bulk may be your best option at least you’ll get all colors. DIY and give away. Yay!

Next, I picked up a few 9-ft. Rolls of Floral Garden Diamond Wrap Ribbon from Dollar Tree. I picked out the colors to match the vase. Cute!!

All of the diamond wraps you see in the image is exactly what I have here at home. I really love working with these bling wrap. Easy to cut and soft to handle at touch. Diamond wraps are currently on back order at Dollar Tree’s site but you can also find them on Amazon here.

3: You’re also going to need bags of Glass Gem Stone flat rocks. Dollar Tree sell these in variety of colors.

My glass gem stone color rocks I grabbed are white, blue, and red.

4: Have your glue gun ready and plugged in with glue sticks secured in place. Now let’s get to crafting this shall we…

I purchased my mini glue gun by ArtMinds brand (years ago) from Michaels.

5: Artificial flowers-1 to 2 sets (depending on how many vase you’re going to put together. Ideally you’ll use 1 flowers set per vase). At the time of putting together this craft tutorial I already had a ton of flowers left over from Spring / Summer season. Since now we’re in the holiday vibes I would recommend of course you grab Christmas Holiday themed flowers. Also for this craft any size will do.

6: And last you’ll need a pack of hot Glue sticks of course. – 1 pack. Be sure to get the correct size hot glue sticks for your glue gun. Since I use a mini glue gun I buy the mini glue sticks to fit my fun. Compatible.

VIDEO: Let me show you how to put together your DIY project

Easy instructions:

1. Start by cutting a strip of your bling wrap measuring it around the rim of the plastic vase.
2. Press a tad bit of hot glue on the bling wrap and press on very slowly. Be careful your glue may be hot.
3. Follow step-1 again for the bottom of the vase. Cutting a piece of bling wrap strip measuring it for the bottom of your vase (then follow step-2: squeeze on a tad bit of hot glue).
4. Once you’re done adding your hot glue on both of your bling wrap pieces (to the top and bottom of your vase) then put aside for about 2 minutes to let the hot glue stand-to-dry.
5. Grab your Sky Blue Gem Stones and add them inside your vase. I think they’ll look much better when you fill up the vase entirely. But it’s your choice if you want to add the stones half-way or full up to the top.
6. Last insert your artificial flowers and wahala. You’re done!

I love making this DIY project with Dollar Tree items. It’s so nice sitting on top of my work desk. Now that Spring / Summer season is gone I’ll need to swap out the flowers and replace them with red and brown colors. Getting into my Holiday spirit.

Now this is just cute ways to decorate a vase. The sky is the limit. So many different ideas we can do with all of the wonderful things sold at Dollar Tree.
