OK, so there’s really “no truth” to this other than I LOVE SEWING! haha. As I continue to embark on updating my latest trends here on my site, it’s basically all about what I cooked up this Spring / Summer 2019 season. Officially heading into the fall / winter weather in Georgia, cold!!
Check me out… I made this quick, fun, simple, and easy bodycon dress. As you know (or may not know) that every year since 2015 I sew during (and only) in the Spring / Summer season (and I don’t sew outside of this. Like you’ll never find me sewing anything heavily during the Fall / Winter seasons). That’s because here in Georgia when it’s cold, then it becomes a total different type of fabric to use. Like sweatery types of material and this mama’ bear just haven’t mastered that type of fabric yet. So anyway, I whipped out my sewing machine and get down to work!
A bodycon dress is a tight figure-hugging dress, often made from stretchy material. The name derives from “body confidence”. This type of dress is very diverse. We can dress it up to go on a date nigh with the Mister or make it a professional look to wear in the office finishing it off with heals and a suit jacket. Whenever I decide not to wear my uniforms at my agency I get to dress up sometimes and I’ve worn this to my office, twice. I love this! Super fun to rock in various ways. Extremely soft against my skin.
…and honey, let me tell you
This dress will hug ever-single-curve on us showing all kinds of hips and booty LOL. I must warn you! BEWARE of the “eyes”. Literally all eyes will be on you! My husband wouldn’t keep his hands off me. Ha ha. Yea dude!
So now that the weather is officially changing here in GA by the time you’re reading this I am updating this post currently in the month of October / 2019, I can still wear my bodycon dress with a pair of black long knee length boots. The sewing pieces in this patterns comes in various sleeve options. So for this style I finished off my dress with making the long sleeves version. I’ve sewn two of these so far in the past. One in 2015 with short sleeves using leopard knit fabric and the second time making this was 3/4 inch sleeves using knit fabric camouflage print. But see what I mean how this piece made is a very diverse look? I’ll surely be back and update you on me rocking this dress wearing my black boots versions.
Special shout-out to my mini-me little Jordin for snapping mama’ bear pics LOL. Papa’bear and I was on our way out to have a date night and all of our stuff was boxed up due to a recent move we had. So like I mentioned before, couldn’t find anything to wear plus all of our stuff boxed up, and I just simply had to make something instead. Whipped out the sewing machine and got busy… SWAG!

As you seen above, this pattern calls for stretch knit fabrics only. I grabbed mine from my local Joann Fabric Store.
