I love making my vision board. I’ve been making mine for many years. It’s my way of keeping my goals in front of me. I would always (try) to make one every-single-year and post it up above my work desk. Or post it up above my sewing space. Often times I find myself falling into la-la land. So I’d typically glance up really quick and look at my vision board. When I look up and glance at it I get lost in my vision. Blurred dazed comes across me and I start visualizing.
Whatever goal I put on my vision board at least 75-85% always manifest. No lie. It’s amazing when you can just pop these images on the board and just leave it alone. Plant the seed (and walk away). The Universe will take care of the rest for us.
What is a Vision Board
A vision board is a physical representation of a goal or goals that you’re aiming to achieve.
A vision board is a sacred place that displays what you want in life. When you hang it in a space where you see it daily, your vision board brings your goals and aspirations to life.
Basically a goal setting tool for whatever you’re aiming to accomplish. And let me tell you…. they work!

How I Make My Dream Board
Making a vision board is fairly easy. For me personally I Google a lot of my images. If you attend Vision Board workshops then you’ll see a ton of old magazines on the table for you to cut out images that will represent your goals…your desires…and what you basically want out of your life to accomplish. Great! Flip through those magazines and cut out all those images.
I just find it a bit easier for me to Google my images, print them, get my Elmers glue stick, and start pasting the images on my board accordingly.
Special shout-out to Fair Beauty for requesting that I talk about my vision boards!! Happy to have created my quick video to discuss and show you my boards.
One of my Favorite Vision Board Ideas
Ok, so, in addition to making the physical big card board—board, I also make a virtual vision board too. This is pretty unique. Again, I hop on the good ole’ Google.com and gather images. Then I would put the images together inside of my Powerpoint slides. When I’m done I save it then I print it out. I hang my virtual vision board all of my house.
I put my virtual vision board displayed on my;
- Closet door
- Bathroom door
- Fridge door
- Inside my car
- I also save the image of my completed board and send it to myself saved inside my photos on my iPhone
Many of my personal (and business) goals already manifested off of my virtual vision board. Like when I used to work a full time job as you can see above I put “I quit my job“. Yes, it has manifested. I was able to be in a strong financial position and resigned from my job. I started my own business and named my company after my grandmother and now I have this blog here MamaBearSWAG.com as my hobby space where I earn passive income from blogging about what I am passionate about (which is sewing and crafting).

Other Vision Board Ideas & Tools I Use
Another great vision board idea is getting a vision board app on your mobile device. HELLO technology!!! So if you’re glued to your phone then look for this app and download it for free. It’s very easy to use. Grab images already saved on your photo files and paste the photos in the box slots.
I really like this app by; VISU App Vision Board because we can choose different sizes. You can also save your virtual vision board made inside your app straight to your mobile devices wallpaper (background). We can print the image, email it to ourselves, or even post it on social media to share our vision board ideas with everyone.
I personally use this app myself and I love it. You can see 10 best (and free) Vision Board apps you can download (for iOS or Andriod devices) over by MakingAVisionBoard.com site.
My Goal Planner
Do you set goals? Do you have a planner? Or a ‘do-to-list’? Here’s mine. It’s called The Five Minute Journal.
Have you ever heard of The Five Minute Journal? Man, this is an AMAZING tool! In addition to learning how to make a vision board that works I also journal daily. But the good thing about this journal is that it’s literally designed for us to write our goals down in just five minutes. Life is super busy for everyone. What better tool to use than to helps stay accountable + motivated.
I use my Five Minute Journal religiously every-day.
The Five Minute Journal The Five Minute Journal
I definitely encourage you to grab yourself one of The Five Minute Journal. This is your secret weapon to focus on the good in your life, become more mindful, and live with intention. With a simple structured format based on positive psychology research, you will start and end each day with gratitude.
I’m just a strong believer in writing things down in order for our goals (aka dreams) to manifest. Stats shows that if you write down what you want, it’s way more likely to happen. Writing down does not necessarily mean just the journal. It’s for our vision boards too. Plant the seed… create the vision.. make it plain and clear. ACTIVATE IT. Like I’ve shown you and explained it on my video.
If it’s not written down then it’s not real. CLICK HERE to TWEET THAT!
So there you have it. Tons of tools and resources to help you create the best life for yourself this 2020 year coming. Have you already created your vision board yet? Or are you planning on making one? I can’t wait to hear your feedback down below.

Hey Melissa!! Thank you Mama’bear. Yes, GREAT project for the Bear cubs too. For kids though, I often call it a ‘Dream Board’ because kids do not know what a vision board is but kids surely know what a dream board is for sure.
I dont think I have ever made a vision board before in my life. But I know so many people who have and do and it’s a wonderful way to really showcase to yourself what you are striving for!

I haven’t ever created a vision board. It is something that I should probably do even though I am pretty good at working towards my goals. Just having something to look at daily is a great reminder though.
